Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)
-
Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is a treatment approach that uses low doses of Ketamine combined with Wellness Support Sessions for various mental health conditions. Many clients refer to this as a “life saving treatment”.
Ketamine works on neurotransmitters in the brain, specifically the Glutamate receptors called N-methyl-D-Aspartate (NMDA). These neurotransmitters help to regulate mood, cognition, and pain perception. Ketamine also triggers a rise in brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) levels, which increases the neuroplasticity of the brain. Neuroplasticity is the brain’s ability to make new connections, organize thoughts, and rewire certain experiences. You will be monitored by medical personnel during the administration and for a brief amount of time afterward.
24-72 hours after Ketamine administration, the client will return to the clinic for a Wellness Support Session.
By combining this medication alongside Wellness Support Sessions, clients often report a reduction in symptoms within hours to days after treatment.

It can be! However, our clinic uses a much lower dose of Ketamine than what is used for anesthesia. This is called a subanesthetic dose. You will be relaxed, but conscious.
You may feel a disassociated feeling, often described as daydreaming or spacey. Some clients describe a floating experience. Some clients feel a little sleepy.
-
The administration time of low dose Ketamine is around 30 to 45 minutes. Some clients may have dizziness or nausea during administration. These side effects typically go away shortly after the medication administration is completed.
Ketamine can only be prescribed for use in clinic, under the direct supervision of a medical professional.
Clients with certain medical conditions, such as those with uncontrolled blood pressure, are not ideal candidates for Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy.
There are certain forms of Ketamine that are FDA approved, such as intranasal ketamine (Esketamine). Other forms of Ketamine, like intravenous (IV) or intramuscular (IM), are off label use for psychiatric disease and not covered by insurance.
There are alternative to Ketamine treatment, including FDA approved therapies and medications.
-
By combining Ketamine with Wellness Support Sessions, individuals who have had treatment resistant symptoms will often report a reduction in depression, anxiety, and other mood symptoms within days of treatment, some even within hours. Each individual is different, and results are not guaranteed. However, many clients have seen a quick reduction in symptoms with longer lasting effects than with traditional treatment.

Schedule a free meet and greet to discuss if Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) would be the right treatment for you.
If the answer is yes, you will be scheduled for administration of medication. Included in the cost is the administration of the medication, the medication, monitoring during and after medication, and a Wellness Support Session 24-72 hours after administration.
While some clients see benefits after one session, most clients see more lasting results after 6 (six) infusions spread out over 3 (three) weeks. After this introductory period, many clients space out their KAP to monthly, quarterly, or even biannually.
We know some clients will want to see how a session works, but we hope most clients will make a commitment to completing at least 6 (six) sessions.
